Women's Health

"In 1986, government scientists wrote a letter to the British journal Lancet and acknowledged that abortion is a cause of breast cancer.  They wrote, "Induced abortion before first term pregnancy increases the risk of breast cancer."  (Lancet, 2/22/86, p. 436)

"As of 2006, eight medical organizations recognize that abortion raises a woman's risk for breast cancer, independently of the risk of delaying the birth of a first child (a secondary effect that all experts already acknowledge).  An additional medical organization, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, issued a statement in 2003 calling on doctors to inform patients about a "highly plausible" relationship between abortion and breast cancer."  *Quotes from www.abortionbreastcancer.com website

Additionally, hormonal contraceptives (pills, shots, patches etc.)  and intrauterine devices (IUD) are abortifacients.  An abortifacient is a substance or device used to induce an abortion.  While using contraceptives and IUD's, fertilization can still take place, but implantation of the new life is prevented, thus resulting in an abortion.

There is no such thing as "safe sex".   No artificial contraception method will protect you completely from getting an STD.  Many STD's cause life long illnesses and infertility.  HPV, an STD which causes uterine cancer, has a high death rate.  Although there is an HPV vaccination shot being promoted it is not a guarantee.  It will only possibly work on a few HPV strains, and there are many more of them it doesn't work against.  This information is admitted by the manufacturer and verifiable.

At the Gianna Center for Women, we are delighted to offer a new, exciting approach to women's healthcare.

We combine comprehensive primary care with specialized obstetrical and gynecologic care and serve women with a deep commitment to honoring their dignity and natural ecology of their bodies. With this as our promise, we are uniquely qualified to care for women of all ages and at all stages of life.

We are pleased to be the first medical practice in New York City to feature two new women's health services -- the CreightonModel FertilityCare System and NaProTechnology, both of which allow us to provide you with a natural, scientifically-based approach to monitoring your health and managing your fertility.

NaProTechnology also provides a new approach to the treatment of infertility that is as effective as in vitro fertilization, allows a couple to conceive naturally, does not create or destroy embryos, and is covered by most health insurances in New York State.

Our mission is simple - to acknowledge your dignity as a woman and to provide you, our patient, with exceptional medical care.  Our goal is to be of genuine service to you - and we look forward to serving your healthcare needs.

Creighton Model FertilityCare System

The Creighton Model FertilityCare System (CrMS) is a modern approach to natural family planning.

  • By simply learning to identify the signs of a woman's fertility, a couple can successfully space their children according to their unique needs.
  • As a true method of family planning, it can be used to both achieve and avoid a pregnancy.
    • Fertility-focused intercourse allows 98.5% of couples to achieve a pregnancy within six months.
    • When used to avoid pregnancy, the method is 99.5% effective.
  • The Creighton Model FertilityCare System Chart also serves as a diagnostic tool, allowing Gianna physicians to diagnose and treat underlying reproductive and gynecologic disorders, using NaProTechnology.
  • Education in the CrMS is available at Gianna Healthcare.  Please contact our FertilityCare Center for an introductory session.
