An abortifacient is a substance or device used to induce an abortion. While using contraceptives and IUD's, fertilization can still take place, but implantation of the new life is prevented, thus resulting in an abortion.
There is no such thing as "safe sex". No artificial contraception method will protect you completely from getting an STD. Many STD's cause life long illnesses and infertility. HPV, an STD which causes uterine cancer, has a high death rate. Although there is an HPV vaccination shot being promoted it is not a guarantee. It will only possibly work on a few HPV strains, and there are many more of them it doesn't work against. This information is admitted by the manufacturer and verifiable.
